Is Anyone Wondering Why I Have Named My Blog '42'

Hi, it’s really quite simple. Back in the day, Doug Adams wrote ‘The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy. One of the subplots was that the people designed a super computer to answer the ultimate question about life, the universe and everything. Seven Million or so years later, the computer reluctantly spits out the answer…. ‘42’.

I have usually considered that to be a comment on the absurdity of our modern world. The older I become, the more absurd the world appears to my tired eyes. 

• At Agent Orange’s swearing in, the President who proudly proclaims that he will make America officially two gender has the Village People performing for the MAGA crowd, and he’s onstage dancing with them! His Maga Christian supporters are lapping it up.

• Agent Orange’s wife, the Undertakers understudy, has started her own crypto coin business… to match her husbands?  Can they spell ‘Conflict of Interest’?

• After 15 months, the Israeli / Hamas war has entered a temporary cease fire that may lead to a permanent peace. What makes it absurd rather just horrifyingly sad is that neither side achieved it’s stated  goals.

• The only lesson from history that the American leadership has learned is that as the Empire crumbles, make sure the suckers that keep you in power have their bread, beer and ballyhoo. 

• This list is almost infinite, so I’ll stop it here.

And there you have it, I chose 42 as the name for my blog because I find much of our western reality absurd in the extreme.
