Things to Come (A Bow to H.G.Wells)

Fanuary 24, 2025 Hi, This: It is now official, we have two ‘old dames’ laying, with neither of them being a brooder. In translation, it is just a question of gathering the eggs rather than shooing away a mad old dame. That: With a little bit of luck, tomorrow will be a good day for both the weather and me, and I’ll be able to get up on the roof for a video showing how the reshaping of the garden is coming along. And The Other Thing: I am a political junkie who enjoys the drama, though not the tragedy of the world today. If H.G. Wells wasn’t a sent by G-d prophet, he was at the very least an acute observer and a deep thinker who saw an unpleasant future for humanity. When I contemplate the work of Mr. Wells and apply his visions to our world, I get oh so scared. In a very tiny nutshell, he never saw a pleasant future. Either we became mindless sheep (The Time Machine), barbaric barbarians that are saved by the scientific elite (Things To Come) or well controlled younger siblings of Big Brother (1984). Personally, I’m more of a believer in 1984. Brian

Hi,

This:

It is now official, we have two ‘old dames’ laying, with neither of them being a brooder. In translation, it is just a question of gathering the eggs rather than shooing away a mad old dame.

That:

With a little bit of luck, tomorrow will be a good day for both the weather and me, and I’ll be able to get up on the roof for a video showing how the reshaping of the garden is coming along.

And The Other Thing:

I am a political junkie who enjoys the drama, though not the tragedy of the world today.

Brian
